Did you ever crack your terrible procrastination habit?

I think I might be on the way!

I run my own business and am notoriously awful at keeping on top of my accounts, but I've finally done it! They are literally accurate as of today. In 15 years I've never managed it. I'm always the one filing on 31st January and scrabbling around to find receipts but not any more.

I needed to tell someone asking as i cant quite believe, is it possible that I can actually keep this up?

Well done! What did you do differently this time round to achieve this?

Riapia · 28/04/2023 18:14

I’ll have to get back to you on this.
Need more time to think about it.

You might be able to keep it up!

My greatest 'hack' has been outsourcing the stuff I hate.

It felt like an unbelievable indulgence at first but it's been worth Every Farking Penny.

No!

I'm getting there! I did get diagnosed and medicated for adhd though lol!

I was initially going to answer this with "nothing I just got on with it'.

But thinking about it, that's not true. I did 2 things.

  1. I opened a new bank account, purely for my self employed work and expenses. This made writing out my income and expenditure a doddle.
  1. I made my own accounting sheets. I was trying to be modern and go online/use a spreadsheet but I realised I love pen and paper and so I designed fancy new sheets which work perfectly for my line of work and it's a piece of piss to fill them out weekly now.

Nope… but I’ve got ADD

I think most people who've kicked their procrastination habit probably aren't on here tbh.

But well done, OP.

KirstenBlest · 28/04/2023 20:33

I'm going to crack it tomorrow if I get around to it.

So true!

actually, I have a variation

I kicked it for years...then fell back into it. Not about work though, but everything else.

KateyCuckoo · 28/04/2023 20:37

I'm not looking to be super productive and busy 24/7, just want to do important things in a timely manner rather than keep putting things off to the very last moment causing stress and anxiety which I could do without. I have an anxiety disorder and realising that tackling things head in instead of hiding from them is actually the solution to my problem.

I got a job where you pick up your work fresh every day.

Like an idiot I'm changing jobs in a month which will require report writing etc. Why 🙄
