What's the weirdest activity your kids have wanted to do?

I was talking to a friend yesterday, who has just moved to Orlando. The local library held a free shredding day where you could bring along paperwork to be shredded. She'd taken them to an amazing activity place which they enjoyed but they were very upset when they'd learned that they'd missed out on the free shredding day. Apparently the shredder at home just isn't the same. All these amazing things for kids in Orlando and they just want to shred paper. Grin

So what's the weirdest or alternately the most incredibly mundane thing that your kids enjoy?

We moved into a new village and they did a monthly litter pick and general village clear up. My younger brother (8) saw this and begged my mum to join, obviously she said yes because what a lovely thing to do for the village so the next month we helped out.

My brother refused to bin the bags of rubbish he found because it was ‘treasure’ and kept trying to pick everything up with his hands to examine it, including a cigarette lighter that he happily showed us still worked. My brother had the best time, my mum did not.

I know a child who went carrot picking at the local farm shop / pick your own place for their birthday (at their request).
Reader: this child doesn't like carrots.

About once a month I used to empty the contents of the fridge onto the kitchen table and dig out all the half full bags of chips, frozen spag bol leftovers etc from the freezer and ask the DCs to choose what they wanted - any combination - chips with tiramisu, whatever - anything to finish up all the left overs.

These, apparently, were my best meals I ever made.

I love these. Kids are great.

The kids watched a rocket launch last week and thought it was pretty cool but apparently the library shredder would have been even cooler.

Grin I can't decide if I'd be delighted, because it's such an easy dinner, or offended.

And now I want to go carrot picking.
