Can I tell you about my day yesterday?
I went to a place in North Yorks called 'Gordale Scar' with my son and my grandchildren and our dogs.
It's an amazing place - Google it !
The water coming off the tops and gushing down is so crystal clear I swear you could drink it and lower down there looked to be watercress growing in the stream.
My son ticked a box. He went in the waterfall. It must have been bloody freezing !
But the best part for me came as I was watching them all climb up to the top when a party of schoolchildren and their teachers appeared and the children descended upon my dogs. They were cuddling them and stroking them and I was standing in the middle of it all loving it.
One of the children shouted 'this is even better than the residential'. I looked at the teacher and he said would you mind if your dogs appear on twitter?
Later we met again on the way back down and the children all waved at me. This was one of those times when the unexpected happens and you never forget. Such a happy day and we did not have time to get to 'Janet's Foss'.. Google that as well !
Sorry if this all sounds soppy - it was great !

Wow! I've just googled and it looks beautiful. I'm sure your DS will remember this as a happy day.

Its part of a fantastic 13k(?) walk up Gordle scar taking in Malham Tarn and Malham Cove and Janet's Foss I did as a teenager.

That sounds like an amazing day ☺️

That just sounds wonderful. A combination of life's simple pleasures like walks, dogs and children. How nice for the school trip to bump into such a friendly family party. Not only you and your loved ones will remember that day but also the school trippers too. Fabulous!

O that's lovely! What a great day for all of you, may there be many more in future.

That sounds so lovely. We’re heading up to Yorkshire this summer - definitely going on our list of places to visit, so thank you.

And it is free. You only have to pay at the car park. We are returning on the bank holiday as we missed the 'Janet's Foss' where you can wild water swim in the pool and there is a waterfall. I shall not be swimming but one of my pugs might :)

The top of Malham Cove features in the Harry Potter movies (the last one I think it is, when they’re on the run and camping in desolate locations).
