Just cheap or too good to be true?

Just looking for a cheap villa to stay in.

Is this a fraud/scam or is it just cheap?

Saying £45 a day for 2 adults and 2 kids?

No idea but excellent find if it is real! Sometimes I message the host to ask a couple of questions and see what kind of response I get / if there is anything fishy.

Don't ask if it's really £45 a night though - they might have meant £145 and put it up 😂

Well that's just it Grin How do I suss them out without looking like they need to put the piece up?

Reviews seem genuine..?

Looks legit to me, only 4 reviews on this listing but the host has loads of other properties with over 1000 reviews over the last 4 years.

I don't know much about Airbnb but looking at the review they're all within a couple of months of each other and the response from the hosts is the same for each one (and sounds unnatural/commercial/contrived).

Looks like a nice pad though!

The host is James villas. See if you can find the same villa on their actual website

Heroicallyfound · 27/04/2023 19:40

Have you tried clicking though on the dates you want to see the actual cost? Sometimes Airbnbs add on extra things like service/cleaning charges just before the checkout.

Can you actually book it anyway? I just tried clicking through to see what they add last minute and it doesn’t let me get beyond putting dates in.

etsylocked · 27/04/2023 19:46

Thank you

I thought James Villas had a rep for being Uber expensive?!

It is an absolute steal- not dodgy - James villas are great

ComtesseDeSpair · 27/04/2023 20:18

When you try to select any dates for a stay it just says “host unavailable” - so looks like a glitch.

I don't have that problem, can easily select multiple available dates and get through to the booking page.

I'd go for it if the dates suit you OP, your dates are by far the cheapest, prices go up the following week and then really jump up in June. My only worry would be that the pool might be too cool to use in May.

Redglitter · 28/04/2023 01:27

Looks like you're just lucky with the dates. If you select the following week it's gone up to over £100 a night. Quick book it before someone else on here snaps it up

whattheactualfcukhashappend · 28/04/2023 02:27

Looks very dodgy to me. The reviews are very short. Spaniards are known for flowery language and using tem words when one would do .
3 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms, cleaning, pool maintenance, agents fees not to mention insurance, utilities and council tax or equivalent plus the mortgage on the property and general building maintenance would cost more than £289 a week ...

whattheactualfcukhashappend · 28/04/2023 02:37

Look,at the reviews at the bottom of the page

Crikeyalmighty · 28/04/2023 11:25

@Redglitter I was tempted I must admit!!

farahway · 28/04/2023 13:43

We had a gorgeous AirBnb in Spain in Nov/Dec. On seafront. Cost £70 per night. Over Easter it went up to £300 per night. Depends on the time of year.
