Herbal Calms night, feeling ill and interaction with other meds?

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone else had used the herbal Kalms night "sleeping tablet?"
If so did you have any side effects?

I haven't been sleeping great so decided to use some for the first time last night. I used 4 as directed an hour before bed. Within about 2 hours I felt a bit dizzy and was having palpitation and my head just feels "funny".

All day today I have felt sick, a bit dizzy/like I have vertigo. My eyes feel heavy.

I also take prescription co codamol for gynae issues. I take them finally regular, so am I used to them and have no issues.
I did take the co codamol an hour before the Kalms (I didn't think to be honest).
Does anyone know of any possible interactions? I can't find much online.

I'm still having my gynae pain and would usually take some co codamol but I'm worried the two may have interacted?
Also, I do realise the herbal Kalms shouldn't have side effects like this.

I think valerian doesn't suit everyone. It lowers heart rate.

The only herb in the tablets is valerian. For most people it's a very effective relaxant, but a small percentage of people experience a paradoxical reaction. It is stimulating and makes them anxious and agitated. With the palpitations it sounds like you might be one of the few. So am I.

Don’t take any more until you ask advice from a pharmacist.

They didn't suit me, had no effect on my sleep but left even more tired the next day. I'm on oxycontin daily for pain and occasionally use nytol to help me sleep, I find them good and will take one for two nights and then a half on the third night and stop, I might do this twice a month and it really helps me.
