What is going on with Argos??!!

Been trying to purchase online with Argos for 3 days and their website will not take payment. Their live chat is the worst AI chat I've seen in years - doesn't answer the questions you ask. And you can only get through to a real person on their helpline if you have an order number - which I don't have because the site won't let me complete my order!

They used to be the go-to shop for anything household and now they are rapidly going down the tubes...

Just me? Or is everyone having issues with them?

They have been a problem for some time now

Low stock is my biggest big bear!

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 27/04/2023 13:46

They're website has been shit for years.

Be careful of what they call "ghost orders" this happens a lot with Argos (I know as my mum works for their head office) whereby the order never actually goes through but you get charged. So you'll get the "something went wrong there" message but still get charged.

I had a problem with a ghost "order recently" took money from my account but no confirmation email etc, I did manage to get through to someone and was refunded but I agree it's gone down hill. I have one walking distance from me so go in to get anything now rather risk losing money next time.

Argos is the worst for never having anything in stock, especially sale items. They say if it's listed on their website then it's in stock somewhere but their website literally tells you no stores have it. They're my last resort these days.

tailinthejam · 27/04/2023 14:37

Our local one was huge and used to have really good stock so you could go in and find most things you wanted, then they went and closed it. Now the branch is crammed into the arse end corner of Sainsbury's, and their stockholding is crap. I rarely even bother searching online now, and never go into the actual store at all.

Giselletheunicorn · 28/04/2023 17:48

I've stopped visiting in-store because we also now have a tiny one crammed into the back of Sainsburys. Honestly, they are going to do themselves out of business...

Mamette · 28/04/2023 17:50

I thought it was closing down? Maybe that’s just my local one 🤔

Now you mention it they sent me some really weird emails recently with just a string of letters and numbers in the title. Then when I tried to unsubscribe it brought me to a spam page.

Nachobowls · 28/04/2023 17:51

Useless now it’s in Sainsbury’s I went to get something a while back and everything was out of stock and had to be ordered to the store which made no sense if you needed something then and there

BillyNoM8s · 28/04/2023 17:54

I would phone and just type in a fake order number. Hopefully you'll get through to a human.

I also find them next to useless these days. Whatever I want is only ever in stock miles away. I think they either need to go fully online or cease trading. I'm surprised they still exist.

Cannot agree. I order loads of stuff via click and collect at Argos and love how efficient it is. Home delivery is bloody excellent. I had a double bed and mattress delivered last week to a bedroom on the top of a 4 storey house. Guys just took it in their stride. It was worth the tenner "drink" money.

Absolutely agree. Super easy for either delivery or picking up in Sainsburys. Bloody love it nowadays.
