Strange things you find soothing but would never tell anyone irl

Since covid and lockdown if I'm feeling a bit meh and have no reason to leave the house, I won't shower or bath for five days. Weirdly I like affirming that I don't need to be around people sometimes. This is also nonsense because I live with my dh and kids but it's a little 'I'm in feral hermit mode' I like the feral aspect of giving up.

My favourite item of clothing is my threadbare m&s nightie. Its possibly over ten years old but feels familiar and therefore comforting.

There is one or two films I could watch daily and sometimes I do watch them more than once a week. Seen them over a hundred times possibly by now. I just love them.

I fall asleep listening to true crime podcasts. I think if I told people irl, that they'd think I'm weird and be judgemental.

I have a plush bunny that has the softest ears. I also watch the same shows over and over again when I need a bit of self care.

At the end of the day taking my bra off and putting on the T-shirt my husband has been wearing tag at day.

the smell of aircon in my car. That sponge smell. Just thinking about it makes me feel so much comfort.

I have a lot!

I watch the same films over and over as well and and them really comforting. AI like old comedies. Some favourites are Smokey and the Bandit, Private Benjamin and Groundhog Day.

Love watching childhood kids programmes like Mr Ben, Bagpuss, Grange Hill.

Old episodes of Neighbours and the Sullivans are really comforting.

Old Top of the Pops.

Love Map Crunch and could happily hours exploring random areas of the world I'll never get to visit.

Rightmove. I could lose days searching for the perfect house. I often end up on street view wandering around as if I lived there.

My dressing gown which is around 15 years old and feels like a big cuddle.

I still suck my thumb when I'm really tired. I don't even know I'm doing it 🙈
