WhatsApp won’t update - any tech my advice?

Since my recent WhatsApp update it won’t notify me of any messages unless I have the app open.
I’ve tried checking the notifications settings and that background refresh is enabled.

Any tech savvy people have a suggestion for an iPhone user on WhatsApp?

Turn your phone off then back on again. I had to do this with FB messenger recently as I wasn't getting any notifications.

If the above doesn't work, check that you haven't switched on focus mode on the phone by mistake. I did this once - took me weeks to work it out!
