I hate Blippi

I remember the first time I watched Blippi with DC years ago. Even though it was more or less educational I didn't enjoy it at all. I read about him later and ohhhh boy 😱I felt like vomitting . Since then I can't abide even watching him for a few minutes. He seems so insincere and just for the money. I know that my knowledge about his past might be colouring my view of him but I can't stand him. Now he's all-over Netflix 🙄

Oh he annoys me! My mum lets DS watch it, and he just irritates me so much!

I feel the same, especially after reading about those other videos he made! Grim

3yo used to LOVE him but hasnt mentioned him for a while thankfully.

3yo just spotted the paw patrol movie on sky so I am thrilled he has found 1hr 24mins of something I can stand to be in the same room as him for.

He definitely seems like he's doing it for the money, and only for the money. There's no longer or charm to his content, it's polished and a formula that kids seem to like, but it's totally hollow. And annoying!

Just in case anyone of you doesn't already know, this is what he used to do before understanding that kids TV would be more lucrative:

Put on Steve and Maggie instead. The bird is pretty annoying but it's quite educational.

Meh. It's gross but he has spoken about the Harlem shake video and says he regrets it, poor judgement etc.

I'm not really bothered about him being in it for the money. Isn't that what work is for? He has created a character kids like to watch. He gets paid for it. The character doesn't do or say anything inappropriate as far as I've seen? Not does he directly interact with children as far as any of the videos I've watched show.

He is definitely very annoying but that goes for most children's TV presenters!

I recall the fella saying the reason he created Blippi was because he saw nieces and nephews watching similar stuff on YouTube and he thought he could do better. Few people upload shows on social media these days for altruistic reasons = it's all about the $$$. He's an annoying bugger but he's better than shows created by parents seeking to make money off their kids doing silly skits.

What annoys me most is that he's clearly pretty thick - he doesn't understand or explain things properly, says he doesn't know what stuff is or laughs at things he doesn't understand. A decent presenter would stop filming and take the time to find out what they're talking about. I've no problem with him doing it for money, but don't half-arse it.

Unfortunately my son loves him at the moment, and every bloody sidebar video on Youtube is Blippi. I try to get him on Bounce Patrol instead.

Steve and Maggie songs will stay in your head forever! It is educational though!

I love Steve and Maggie and I have no problem with my kids watching it. Steve seems genuine and a nice guy even though he does it for the money.

Being honest - I think Blippi is like a terrible parody of all the worst aspects of bad American kids TV. It has no charm, no honesty, no intelligence and no style, only a brainless attempt at inanity by a grown man who is either high as a kite or brain damaged.
