Not having to queue for security or passport control is SO much quicker and easier. When does this small child privilege run out? So I can stagger having a 2nd child for maximum benefit 😂

We’ve got teenagers but tagged along with our friends with a 4 year old to get through security at Gatwick in February!

Also when dds walked through together my youngest had her wee comforter in her hand and the security lady said she needed to check it, said no problem and was expecting her to take it away and xray it but she just felt it over in her hand while babbling away to her which I was tonight was lovely and a totally different scenario from the previous trip.

We've flown a lot since our son was 3 months old and almost always queue like everyone else. I don't mind, I'd feel weird skipping ahead just because we have a baby/toddler.

You shouldn't, I certainly wouldn't have minded pre-baby. Everyone knows it's hard travelling with kids, you deserve some advantages.

I find when it's good it's great, when it's bad it can be a real challenge. Over plan and prepare. I've only once got to skip a queue and that's when the baby raised holy hell because MIL and FIL were ahead of us and whenever we wrapped around in the queue away from them he lost his mind. Poor thing. But I've never had any major mishaps either.

I've just booked some long distance European train tickets for the summer and discovered 3 year olds still count as infants - DS2 is going from Milan to Paris for 9euros - bargain! (and they have family carriages)
