H Pylori

Just wondering if the following sound like H Pylori? I did a test a week ago which was negative but had been on a ppi for a few days so am waiting 2 weeks for a retest.

Over the last 4 months loss of appetite and weight loss.
Over the last month rapidly worsening symptoms including:

Upper back pain (burn is on back between shoulder blades rather than front)
Lump in throat
Difficulty/ pain when swallowing
Zero appetite - have to force myself to eat now
Weight loss accelerating - 1.5kg a week at present
Reflux at night (foam in mouth) but no sore throat or heart burn
Nausea - worse in mornings
High anxiety, heart palpitations
Feeling weak, dizzy, blurry vision

To confuse matters symptoms worsened after I got a calcium tablet stuck in my throat 1 month ago but I am now wondering if that was a side effect rather than the cause.

I don't have any issues with my bowels or any stomach or abdominal pain? Is this possible with h pylori?

When I had h.pylori all my symptoms were very much stomach based. Acid noticeably burning up from just under bra strap on the front.

I now have gallstones (oh joy) which sometimes give back pain as you describe, right hand shoulder blade, usually just before an attack.

Have you been referred for an abdo scan? I had full abdo scan wgucg found gallbladder sludge which has stones hiding in it.

The h.pylori as well (I remember the GP telling me this) symptoms never changed no matter what I ate or how long it had been going on. Something with no fat had same effect as a fry up. Gallbladder is different and reacts more to fat.

If it was gallstones though wouldn't I have stomach pain as well as upper back pain?

I don't think my symptoms vary too much with food although what I am eating at the moment is very limited. Trying low acid soft food diet due to reflux and oesophagus pain.

I don’t know but you seriously need to go and get a gastroscopy. You could have an ulcer or a scarred oesophagus.

Belive me I have been trying, GP has done a referral for a gastroscopy but wait could be months. I am wondering if they do them in a & e any quicker but I went a couple of weeks ago and just got given a ppi and blood tests which were clear.

I’m in Australia so if we go to an a and e equivalent it would take forever. Private is the way here , which could take a few weeks most times. At least your blood is clear but it’s only going to be the gastroscopy that will give you the most information you need with all your symptoms . Good luck .
