Any alternative to tooth implant? So expensive!

I've a crown but it's now fallen out twice as root is crumbling and won't hold it anymore. It's not sore but a bit uncomfortable as I can feel the gum. Dentist has now recommended an implant but it's going to cost me almost 2000 pounds and I'm not sure I can justify that amount of money on one tooth! I'm just wondering if there are any alternatives?

Depending on which tooth, just have a gap? I'm missing a premolar and I never think about it as gap isn't visible to others.

I think you can get a brace with a tooth on (cheapest option) or a bridge where the false tooth is fixed between two healthy teeth via a bit of metal (next cheapest).

A small denture plate for one tooth. I’ve got one with a couple of teeth. A crown failed and another had to come out. The implant was going to be north of £6000. No way.

I had a crown come out as the underlying ground down tooth that supported it had died. The dentist put in a post & glued the original crown on to it. That was over twenty years ago & it’s been fine ever since. It’s a top front tooth. She did it privately, think it was about £120 from what I remember, as it would have cost double that on the NHS she said, something to do with payment bands at the time.
