Warts and menarche/menopause

My daughter started her periods at 11. Just before she did she had several severe flare-ups of eczema and psoriasis - really, really bad.

She then got warts; on her hands, on her arms, on her legs and even worse, several filiform warts over her face. The GP said it was due to the skin barrier failing due to the severe eczema and psoriasis

We tried everything (even freezing, including the ones on her face), but nothing worked. One day they went. I'd given her zinc and assumed it was that.

What I didn't think of, was they went after her periods became regular and settled into a pattern.

I've never knowingly had warts of any kind (including the time DD was smothered in them and I touched them regularly).

However, I had my last 'proper' period in November and only a light one last month. Six weeks ago I discovered a wart on my finger, now I've noticed another under the nail of the same finger (which I couldn't possibly have infected myself with).

I'm now wondering if there is any correlation between the shifts in hormones at menarche and menopause and wart infections. I'm guessing the answer is no, but I find it highly unlikely that DD got them (and couldn't get rid of them), just prior to her periods beginning and I've got them for the first time in 53 years, just as my periods have ended.

I have absolutely no knowledge of the relationship between hormones and warts. I wouldn't rule it out just because menopause seems to affect every other blummin' thing.

However, I think there is a relationship between warts and being run down. The wart virus stays dormant in your system for years, but when your immune system is under pressure it can pop up again. (I had a bad outbreak on my hands in my 20's not long after I'd had glandular fever....) Maybe that's a connection?

@HuggingtheHRT that's interesting, I am very run down, had major surgery the week of my period, then had Covid a week later and still feel very yuck!

I knew the virus could lie dormant, but I've never knowingly had warts or verruca before, though I used to have herpes and cold sores very frequently, but that's not come back for years.

Love your username btw, will have to have a chat with the GP about starting on HRT.
