It’s at the top of my thigh. It’s itchy and I’ve had it about a week. It is quite large, about 6 cm across. Any ideas ladies?

Looks like ringworm to me. You can get OTC cream from the pharmacy.

It's a fungal infection not any sort of actual worm.

definitely ringworm.

Daniki · 25/04/2023 12:07

I agree looks like ringworm! Or the start of psoriasis but more than likely the former

Inthenightgarden1 · 25/04/2023 12:39

Ringworm!

viques · 25/04/2023 12:42

You could have picked it up anywhere. Have you tried on any clothes lately, sat on a chair or bench? I got it from hugging the wrong child, well it was the child I meant to hug but I didn’t realise he had ringworm so I suppose he was the right child hugged at the wrong time.

IDontWantToBeAPie · 25/04/2023 16:50

Don't worry OP loads of people get ring worm. I got it not long ago.

It's treated with clotrimazole (Canesten).

whatausername · 25/04/2023 17:00

Yup, looks like ringworm! Don't scratch because it'll spread and be a pain to get rid of. Get generic clotrimazole cream as it's much cheaper than Canesten. Btw, not suggesting that the PP was recommending Canesten in particular, was just advising OP re. generic in case she didn't know.

givemecoffeenow · 25/04/2023 17:02

Definitely ringworm. Be careful. It can easily spread to other people or even other parts of your body. Try to keep it covered till it’s treated.
