Haven holiday caravan and WIFI

My sister has just returned from a week at haven and told me her bronze caravan was able to connect to WiFi. She said there was a router in there. She's worried she will get charged for connecting to it and using the WiFi.

I've looked online and it all says there is no WiFi in the caravans.

Has anybody else been able to connect to WiFi whilst in their haven caravan?

Was it a private caravan?

We’ve had WiFi a few times (and other extras) when we’ve been allocated a van the Haven let out on behalf of the owner.

How did she connect to it?

I'll ask her if it was a private one.

Apparently she'd connected in the entertainment area and it just stayed connected even when in the caravan. Her caravan was across the other side of the park too.

If she stayed connected it sounds like the park just had good WiFi

some of the parks do - they never guarantee it though

So she was connected to the park wifi? If she didn't use the code on the router she can't have used the router

I think the WiFi service in the caravans depends on whether you are renting one from Haven or you own one. This website has a good guide that covers most of it...https://www.bestbookdirect.com/haven-wifi.html

IT is always hit and miss with haven caravans. While we stayed in Weymouth bay Haven site in Dorset, the wifi was awesome. We even watched uninterrupted Netflix in our laptops. The next year we booked in the same campsite, and hoped to work - but to our total disappoinment there was no wifi availability in our caravan. Our mobile signals were very weak too, so we couldnt connect to hotspot, So we ended up sitting in the reception. It depends on the caravan, and if the owner has set up a router, we dont know which caravan we are allocated to until we arrive. There is no means of requesting wifi during booking or a phone call to Haven, They dont commit anything related to wifi.

Hi I’m currently staying in a caravan and there is no WiFi in the caravan

Haven also let out privately owned caravans on behalf of owners, but done through their own usual booking system, so you wouldn’t necessarily know. I’d guess that’s what’s happened and owner has a router installed.

Only way to make you pay for WiFi is through dedicated portal where makes you enter card details for day/week access before can use it. So no, she’s not going to get charged.

Was it Hafan y mor? They are doing free in caravan WiFi trials at the moment.

I just came back from Haven Greenaces, there is still no site wide Wi-Fi. So we took our own Router (Beryl AX) and plugged in an old phone via USB tethering with a Mozillion Unlimited sim (£22 - £15 cashback). Got up to 120Mbps in the caravan and 250Mbps on the beach. EE is the only network with decent signal, others like 02/Three/Vodafone are all 1-2Mbps at best, if anything at all.
