Foods you forgot were amazing

I bought a yellow melon last week on a whim.

Never buy melons, can't remember the last time I ate one.

Now that I've had one in the fridge, I can't imagine why I neglected it for so long – it was DELICIOUS!

What amazing foods have you ignored for a long time and then rediscovered?

I forgot about yellow melons too. I need to get one today!

@Pseudonamed yes! Do it! Actual summer in my mouth.

Light and sweet and utterly joyful. 5 stars on Tripadvisor.

Last week I bought a box of Shreddies for DDs boyfriend who was staying the weekend.
This morning I polished the remainder of them off and they were bloody delicious.
Had two huge bowls.

You can keep your melons!! I do like watermelon but was spoilt in Greece where they actually taste of something!

@IAcceptCookies That reminds me I am on holiday soon and every time I am on holiday I have cocoa pops if they are on the menu. Not exactly forgotten how good they taste but I never ever have any cereal at home as cutting down heavily on sugar (diabetes) but this is one treat I occasionally have. What a kid eh?

Red Delicious apples. DH picked me some up from M&S and I had forgotten how crisp and tasty they are!

Crunchy nut Cornflakes I forgot how tasty they were

Crumpets with loads of butter on them. I hadn't bought them for ages and got some a few weeks ago. I've been buying them every week now.

A big potato cooked to perfection with a crispy skin that defies all attempts to cut it with a regular knife, cut in half and the potato mashed and mixed with cheese, butter mixed with a smidge of Marmite, piled back into the case and grilled - with a bit more cheese on top,, and a side order of cheese if needed. Manna on a plate
