Healthy and easy carbs for kids

Completely stuck in a rut with what I'm doing for the kids: jacket potato, noodles, pasta, chips. Going to swop to wholemeal where I can. But any ideas for easy carbs to accompany meals? I'm not a great cook so nothing complicated please!

How old are your kids? Whole grains should be consumed in moderation by young children. In terms of easy carbs, my DS loves couscous, super quick and easy. I also use ready cooked pouches of quinoa and/or other grains when I'm too lazy to cook.

Youngest is 5. I could try them with the pouches. Good idea

Mashed potato ? Rice - you could use microwave sachets eg the yellow rice with peas in. You can also get frozen rice sachets .

Frozen rice would be worth a look. They like fish so that might be good together. Just about to do online Asda shop and needed inspiration. Thanks 😊

I like breads - pitta, tortilla wraps, roti etc. I put out dishes of various vegetables, whatever meat seems appropriate, sauces and grated cheese etc and let them construct their own dinner. Wholemeal versions are available, obviously.

You've just made me remember I was going to try them with tacos. They like chili. They've gone on the list!
