This is in our new kitchen - 1850s cottage. It opens up too. Anyone know what it is?

I was thinking its for bread, is it near a fireplace? WHat is it like inside?

As others have said, looks like a bread oven.

On first glance I'd say brad oven but without a wider shot it's hard to tell. Is it near a fireplace/range/chimney or where there used to be one?

Is there any evidence of something on the outside? - how thick are the walls?

Yeah, try putting some dough in it and after an hour check if it's turned into Brad Pitt

Can we see inside? it might be a pantry for keeping things cool before people had fridges if built into the wall
