Please.

It's my friend's birthday next week. I want to make her a luxurious chocolate cake. Does anyone have any foolproof recipes? Bonus points if I can add Bailey's to it!

Thank you!

Nigella has a good chocolate cake recipe on BBC website. It never fails. Not sure about the Baileys although if a recipe calls for milk you could always replace it with Baileys or add it to icing instead of water?

I'd use Lindy's chocolate fudge cake recipe (felt available via Google), it's super luxurious and moist then adapt a buttercream recipe to add Bailey's

This has never failed me (aside from the one time I forgot to add the sugar 😳) it is so moist and fudgey.

I made it for a work cake sale and people raved about it, someone I didn't know emailed me to tell me it was the best cake they had ever had. And I am a mediocre baker who still cannot master the Victoria sponge!

Betty Crocker Devils Food cake packet mix. Job done. I've passed this off as my own handiwork so many times - people go absolutely nuts for it.

I’ve just Google’s and found that same recipe. I googled some more and found a few with Baileys in too.

Yes! My mother befroe she retired was a caterer and did amazing foods from scratch. However, she would often make Betty Crocker cupcakes and people raved about them!

Thanks everyone! I'll report back

This is my usual go-to for a chocolate fudge cake, I've also made Nigellas Guinness cake which is gorgeous. I'll give the BBC Good Food one a try!
