I was a victim of a violent crime nearly two years ago and my therapist things I should get an official, private PTSD diagnosis so that I can make a claim through CICA.

Has anyone done this? And if so, how was the process? Thank you.

i have made a claim to the cica for Ptsd and loss of earnings. my claim has been going on since 2017 .i ended up going through the tribunal and winning as the cica said i didn’t fit the tariff of injuries . i have recently recieved an offer of an interim award which is quite a lot of money why they carry on in the decision making.i had numerous councilling sessions including talking therapies, cbt and emdr non of them worked i was then referred to the community mental health team but they do not know about this referral yet as they failed to carry on with my claim after my tribunal win so it was sat waiting for over a year. it is worth it but the prosess just brings the trauma up time and time again.i did the claim myself i have t used a solicitor
