Anyone been pregnant with heart problems?

Hi everyone,

We are thinking about trying for DC2. I have an appointment with my cardiologist in the next few weeks before hand (it'll be frozen embryo transfer) so will ask the relevant questions there.

I didn't have these heart conditions when I had DD. It all started shortly after I had the AZ covid jab so they're putting it down to a reaction to that, or to my previous cancer / chemo / surgeries.

Anyway, I have SVT and LQTS. I am quite symptomatic with my SVT and I'm on a lot of medication for it. They are hopefully planning to do an EP study / ablation but have been told I will be waiting a long time for this.
The reason I'm thinking about DC2 now is due to my chemo, I have a high chance of going into menopause early, so we really would like to crack on. I have cleared it from my oncologist to go ahead. I obviously know I need to ask all of this to my cardiologist most importantly and I will. If he says wait until after surgery, so be it. I was just wondering if anybody on here has been pregnant / given birth with either LQTS or SVT?

Thank you!

hi i have SVT and was pregnant with my daughter, i was monitored by cardiology more frequently, i ended up being induced so they could monitor the labour process etc, and after she was born i was on an ecg for 3 days before being allowed home as it got quite bad during labour and they wanted it controlled, i stayed on my meds the whole pregnancy, i was prone to collapsing so was seen by midwife’s more and had extra ultrasounds. My daughter was born perfectly healthy :)

Hi. I've had SVT for a number of years which was so sporadic my GP didn't think medication was necessary. I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant but between 22-28 weeks I was having much more recurrent episodes.

I went back to my GP and was referred to cardiology for an echocardiogram. Nothing abnormal found on echo and GP still reluctant to prescribe meds, which I'm ok with.

The episodes have just started to creep back again since around week 32. I know how to resolve the episodes myself but I am becoming more symptomatic as time goes on.

I guess it's all down to hormones, increased blood volume etc and hopefully will settle down again once baby is out!
