Can I skip the first period on the pill?

I'm so sorry I couldn't see an appropriate board for this to go in, aware it's not really the right thing for chat!

Wondering if anyone who's taken/takes Ridgevidon knows whether I can skip the first period/breakthrough bleed while on it?

Going to be starting taking it again after a 5 year gap but have a holiday planned next month right when the breakthrough bleed would be. Normally I'd take those period delay tablets while away but wondering if I can take Ridgevidon packs back to back to skip it instead or if, because it's the first period on the pill, that first bleed is somehow important/necessary?

Sorry if stupid question, wasn't able to speak to a nurse/anyone when obtaining it!

I've been taking rigevidon for the past 3 years and have never stopped to have a period. I get spotting sometimes around when I would have my perdiod maybe 2/3 times a year.

I don't think there is anything to stop you back to backing straight away. However, you might get breakthrough bleeding anyway the first month. When I started going back to back it took 2-3 months to all settle down.

Ah thank you both - that's really helpful! I imagine the spotting/breakthrough bleeding that I'll risk won't be anything like my normal (quite heavy) period, so I'll crack on with the pill! Thank you again!
