What are your favourite DIY tools please?

My DH is an avid DIY-er and we are currently renovating our house. He fully stands by the philosophy ‘the best tool for the job’. His birthday is coming up soon and I want to get him a big box of tools/little bits that will make his life easier! He will be thrilled by this as well. It’s the best present for him.

So I’m putting the call out for any ideas? Or if people have DPs/DHs that love DIY to ask for their ideas?

So far I have a keyring tape measure (we own about 10 tape measures and can never find them), a new spirit level as an electrician ran off with his and some new pencils (can never find one). Does anyone have any more inspiration?

I mean it depends what he doesn't already have surely? No use everyone saying hammer, cordless drill etc if he has those?
Also, what kind of DIY are we talking? IKEA shelves or handcrafted two storey garden shed? Is it just wood/metal, or does he do plumbing and electrics also?

Sorry, I reread and saw you said house renovations! So is that just painting, flooring, shelves etc? Or will he be doing electrics, building stud walls, plasterboard, and so on?

I got my dad a contour depression and a magnetic wristband to put nails on when doing jobs.
