Please mourn my Henry Hoover with me because I am an idiot!

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I’ve just killed my Henry hoover in the worst possible way… I can’t own up to what’s happened to it in real life so I’ll own up to it here 😂

My boyfriend is staying over tonight and deciding that I didn’t want him to see how much of a slattern I am, I decided to clean up a bit.

Alls going well… just the hoovering to do. I thought I’d start with my room because I moult like nothing else so the floor needed a good going over. Took the main attachment off so it’s just the thin metal nozzle bit to do under the bed. Then clank. My hoover has sucked up my vibrator. An elongated bullet type one that’s just the perfect width to get permanently stuck and because it’s a hard plastic one there’s no give. I cannot get it out. I have tried everything, it’s stuck tight. There are probably worse places it could have got stuck but Jesus I don’t want to fork out for a new hoover! Well not for this reason anyway!

RIP Henry… I apologise that I couldn’t save you and you didn’t die a dignified death!

You won’t need a new Hoover just the attachment

just squirt some washing up liquid down it? Or lube? Will it not work free?

Can you warm up the metal tube gently so that it expands a bit?

Or alternately apply a bit of lube and switch on the vibrator. Either it will come loose or at least Henry will die happy!😁

I’ve tried everything. It’s gone right to the top where the metal bend is so I can’t poke something through and push it out the other way. I’ve tried warming the metal up with the hair dryer. I could try washing up liquid but I’d have to pour it down because it’s not In reaching distance. It’s not clanking or rattling or anything, it’s completely stuck tight!

This is why I hate cleaning! It’s just too unpredictable!

You can buy new hoses for Henry.

You can buy attachments for Henry.

Though I'm struggling to picture exactly where it's stuck in poor Henry. Are you able to draw a diagram (and therefore prove you are a true mumsnetter as we apparently love a diagram 😂😂)

After I stopped laughing I also wanted to add you can get replacement hoses for the Henry clan. Great story though, says volumes about the suction 😂😂

I'm an electrician, and my business repairs Henrys, rest assured that all spare parts are available either from your local electrical shop or on the MyHenry website. So he's not dead!!

I would urge you to contact Numatic, the company that make Henry in Somerset and tell them about this, they will love it, there are so many funny Henry anecdotes.

My favourite story, relayed to me by an A&E doctor was of a man who went in with a Henry er, attached, er.... The effect of the high vacuum pressure and slightly sharp edge of the nozzle was apparently called de-gloving 😂
