ASDA -Veg date codes help

I’m all for looking at items to see if they are still edible or not but the stuff I’ve received in my home delivery this week is pretty bad (couldn’t really tell until opening the bag) so, before I email and point out that it’s making things difficult for staff I just need to know if they’ve accidentally picked up something that shouldn’t have still been on the shop floor or if it is perfectly in date but just bad luck.

anyone know what these mean please? Are the numbers the date of the month? What is D? Tia.
D18
D23
D25

D is the 4th letter in the alphabet so = April the number after is the date. So from your list D25 is 25th April. At the start of May D will change to E and the numbers go back to 1.

If you're going to complain, I think the date codes are irrelevant. Fruit and veg should look in good condition with at least a few days life in it.

Anything that looks past its best or 'I need to use this today or else it will only be fit for the compost heap' is not acceptable.

how do they look, smell and feel?

So simplistic when you explain it - thanks. Strawberry
Just appalling quality then it seems!

Barbara Yes the stuff should be edible and have days left on it. The date is relevant because they’ve delivered out of date chilled stuff before now so if out of date, the wet slimy carrots would have a reason to be that way, the fact they should still have a couple of days sell by date means they are just poor quality from the supplier or storage issues at warehouse or store. It wasn’t obvious until I opened the bag so I couldn’t expect a picker, who has only seconds to pick each item, to see the issues.

Teal wet slimy carrots and mushy kiwi. Both still in date.

ew!!

Oddly, the kiwi from last week (D18) are still rock solid, hence me buying a new pack to eat whilst waiting for those ones to soften!
