Spanish gift ideas please!

DS1, 14, has a Spanish exchange student coming to stay with us for 10 days, after the Coronation weekend. He is then going to stay with them in June. They are in Madrid, we are in Essex.

DS1 has been WhatsApping his exchange partner & they get on so well! The mum also seems lovely & has asked what she can send over for us? I am also wondering what DS can take to Spain. He will be going by plane.

Salted almonds from Spain! That's all I'd be looking for. They're soooo salty and delicious.

My Spanish friend likes to buy tins of chocolates like quality street etc as her family like to offer treats to visitors to their home and you can't buy tins like that over there.

Great idea, I could definitely send a box of those with DS (or tin if luggage space allows).
