Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just about to drink my first cuppa of the day. Everyone else is still sleeping & it's lovely and peaceful 😊

My plans are to alternate between laying on the sofa, and sitting in the kitchen, with a bit of very light housework in between, and some crochet. I want to try and match the gauge for the top I want to make today.

The girls are nipping into town for a couple of things for me. I really need some trousers that will fit so I can get dressed properly so they're going to get me some smart-ish trakkies I'd seen in H&M, and hopefully pick some nice pj's too 🤞

Later on, I think dd2's going to start the Harry Potter diamond art she had for her birthday in December. I suggested she sits with me to make a start on it so we'll see.

Dd1 will be rehearsing lines for Monday's GCSE drama performance. I'm the only parent who's been invited & the girls all want me to go but I'm not sure I have that much walk in me atm 😢

I have no idea what's for tea - last night was "fend for yourself" with a variety of noodley and pasta things going on, so tonight should be something proper really 🤔

What about all of you? 🙂

DS1 and DS2 have been up since 6:30, ‘excellent toast’ (French toast) was requested and I’ve somehow been coerced into making multiple rounds. We’re all just getting washed and dressed now, DS1 is pretty shattered after his first week back at school and horrendous hay fever so is feeling a bit sorry for himself.

DH is off to football around 12 so it’ll just be the three of us. It looks not freezing outside she relatively sunny so hopefully we can get the paddling pool out and just chill in the garden this afternoon. Loads of washing to do and I need to sort the spare room out as we have people staying over the next three weeks, it’s currently DS2’s bedroom to be so is full of stuff, not yet built furniture etc.

Also need to measure for curtains for the living room as my ancient ikea ones from when I was 18 have finally disintegrated in the wash.

Was quite poorly yesterday so went to bed early, leaving kitchen in a total state. Woke up feeling a bit better and pleased to see DH has done the clearing up despite getting in from a business trip at midnight. I've gone back to bed with tea and toast and the cat is curled up next to me. Kids are out doing activities this morning. If I feel up to it we're having next door over for a drink this afternoon and they're bringing their grandkids to play with our DC. Looking forward to catching up with DH as he's been away all week.

My daughter and I have been to see my best friend and her son who has conveniently become her best friend which I couldn't be happier about 😂

I'm currently nap trapped in the car so after that we're going to see nana whilst I pop into town for a couple of errands.

Bit of work shopping after and I think we're off out with another friend late afternoon to the park if the weather stops up.

Happy Saturday one and all xx

Afternoon, @lucysmam you sound a lot more upbeat today, I hope that means you're feeling at least a little better?

Late reply this week, I usually look for your thread earlier but it's been quite a busy one today.

DD had a friend sleep over last night, so up relatively early to get showered/dressed, take friend home and DD off for her riding lesson. DH took DS2 to the barber's whilst we were out so DS now looks very handsome.

Now back home, we've all just had lunch. They sort themselves out from the cupboards/fridge these days. I'm off out for a last minute theatre trip with a friend in a minute and DS1 is going to the funfair with his mates this evening.

Just 4 of us for dinner, we're having the fajitas that we should have had last night, but ditched in favour of takeaway due to the sleepover! DD is particularly knackered, so an early night for her I think. DH and I might let DS2 stay down (quietly or DD would never sleep!) and watch Hunger Games with us.

Hope everyone has a peaceful rest of their weekend!

Hello everyone - hope you're starting to feel better @lucysmam and Eid Mubarak to all celebrating today.

I went for my usual Saturday run with a friend, then spent a couple of hours gardening and unwrapping the cushions to our new garden furniture that arrived earlier in the week.

Just finished an hour's marking that I ran out of time to do at school yesterday, and am drinking tea on said garden furniture. Nipping into town with Dh shortly to pick up some bits for dinner, then relaxing, hopefully with my book as it's a good one, and maybe a glass of wine.
