Daughter is a sickle cell carrier?

Does anybody else hear have a child who has the sickle cell carrier gene? If so have they had any problems linked with it? My LG has it and she was born with her blood being too thick so they had to dilute it and do blood transplant etc and when they did her genes test they found she was a carrier of sickle cell but didn’t go into much details so just wondered if anybody else’s child is the same and had anymore info? She was in intensive care for 2 weeks so it was all a lot to process and I probably didn’t ask the questions I needed to really

Mine little girl is a sickle cell disease carrier as well.

We were told if she ever decides to have children with a man who is also a carrier, their children could end up with the actual disorder.

She also may need more oxygen during a surgery should she undergo one (if I am remembering correctly).

Other than that she is a perfectly healthy child. I hope all goes well with your little one OP!

My* little one. I apologise for the typo.

@Emmmie ahh I knew the partner bit but the oxygen thing is interesting to know! She has also had a few water infections before the age of 2 that they are going to look into potentially and I’ve googled and that could be a thing as well but don’t know any more detail. Thanks!
