Calorie free tonic water

Can anyone recommend a calorie-free tonic water? Ideally, one you can just buy in the supermarket but happy to take wider recommendations.

Tesco slimline tonic is fine

Mrstiggywinkel · 21/04/2023 17:26

Is it calorie-free, sorry don't live in UK now just here visiting. I picked up the M&S slimline one and also the Schweppes but neither calorie free. We used to buy Britvic slimline in cans but don't think you can get it in supermarket now.

None of them are calorie free, they contain sweeteners or sugar. Are you sure you don't mean soda water? Tonic water without sweetener of some description wouldn't be drinkable.

Is 5 calories per serving really a big deal?

Mrstiggywinkel · 21/04/2023 17:44

@dementedpixie that's what Britivic used to be I think the M&S an was something like 25 for 100ml and Schweppes was 15, 100ml isn't really a serving in my book, and I don't remember either being that great. Didn't want to expand calories on something not great. Trying to shed a few pounds for the summer.

I've been able to get hold of both botanical and stevia sweetened ones where I live now. Both calorie free.

When I googled them they were 5kcal per 250mls

BIWI · 21/04/2023 17:50

Schweppes Slimline is only 2 cals per 100ml - surely that's not a problem?!

dementedpixie · 21/04/2023 17:50

Were you looking at the Kj instead of Kcal values?

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/04/2023 17:51

Fevertree 'refreshingly light' tonic is 15 calories for 100mls, it's sweetened with fruit sugars. I don't like the taste of synthetic sweetners.

BIWI · 21/04/2023 17:53

Nexba tonic is only 1 calorie per 100ml.

TheDogsMother · 21/04/2023 18:12

After extensive research and many gins my current favourite is the M & S one with lemon. Schweppes has become really expensive. Sainsburys, Tesco and Waitrose all taste too artificially sweetened for me and Fevertree Light has more calories than the above.

I did say extensive research 🤣

SleepingisanArt · 21/04/2023 18:31

Love Fevertree light, can't stand the taste of artificial sweetners (give me headaches too) and don't get me started on stevia!!!!!!
