Tinder - how to know if they are married

So how do you know if someone is married? I've just started on tinder and was reading a comment here that 90% of the profiles are married men.. how do I know which ones are??

My friend has realised that 'separated' often means still married. Especially if they live in the same house but can't move out due to complicated reasons.

You don’t. But I’m sure someone will come along with some more practical suggestions.
I guess you will only find out once you’ve started seeing them but even then, some of them can hide well!!
its not all that bad with OLD though just go in with your eyes open but don’t get paranoid.

You can't (unless they make it obvious). You chat to them or meet them and pick up clues about their life and living situation.

I was on Tinder for years before DH and never came across anyone who was married, unless they had very very good cover. I do live in a very small (island) community though so harder to get away with here.

Ah I see, just curious! I've separated from long term DP so back in the dating game again and it's all a bit alien!

Reverse image search. If they're daft/blasé enough to use the same photos as Facebook accounts etc, you could search the images and have a snoop on their other social media pages.

Ask them. Should be one of your first few questions in conversation to check their availability - how old are you, are you single? Use their profile details as a guide to your questions but always ask too as you’ll get more information from them. Of course some of them will lie but you can normally tell from how people phrase their answers if something doesn’t stack up - trust your instincts. Over the course of a few conversations you can ask when their last relationship was and what they’re looking for and that usually flushes out some detail. If they’re reluctant to arrange a meeting within a week or two that’s usually a sign they’ve got things to juggle at home or that they’re not available for a relationship for some reason.

You wait until the wife tracks you down and accuses you of stealing their husband and makes threats to you ...

General rule of thumb that they're always one stage more married than they say - if they say they're divorced then they might be separated, if they say they're separated they're still married etc etc. Also see when they respond to your messages - if it's always in a very limited time window.

Unfortunately as you get older I would say that the better they are at sex, the more likely they are to be married as well. But that's not so reliable, luckily!

That statistic is shocking, where are the single people!
