Viagogo for concert tickets

Does anyone have experience of buying concert tickets on there? Can it be trusted?

I was going to go for Ticketmaster but it's all sold out so I wonder why viagogo has so many and the reviews for the site are bad.

Any other resale ticket sites you would recommend? Thank you!

Don't do it! The markup is ridiculous! As in a £30 ticket can be £150 on this site!

Custardbanana · 19/04/2023 22:29

Viagogo is a touting site. Tickets might be genuine but more than likely not. Google viagogo scam, you'll see articles on Guardian, MSE and other reputable sources.

Scarletmist and Twickets are trusted resale sites.

Don't do it - as above. They just buy and resell with ridiculous mark up

What about ticketmaster? I don't want to end up with fake tickets, but if the only issue is the ridiculous markup I don't mind, I'm ready to pay anything! Well not anything but you know what I mean.

Get an alert set up with twickets.

JustLurkingAway · 20/04/2023 07:55

Keep checking ticketmaster, not sure when your event is but closer to the time there will likely be some up for resale as people can't go etc, plus the seller can only sell them for what they paid.

ZenNudist · 20/04/2023 07:58

Well I suppose if people don't mind being gouged then sites like viagogo will continue to thrive. Personally I wouldn't risk being ripped off.

BovrilMartini · 20/04/2023 08:29

Don't do it. There’s no guarantee of your tickets even if you pay. See where their ticket resale site is and set up an alert.

Join the FB page for the gig as sometimes people sell tickets on there in my local area

I wouldn’t use viagogo for tickets even if they somehow managed to resurrect Elvis, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin to form a supergroup. Their mark up is obscene their service is appalling. DH used them twice more fool him.

Try Fan-to-fan resale in ticketmaster or twickets

Brefugee · 20/04/2023 08:41

I wouldn't. I've met people over here for football matches that home fans couldn't get tickets for, in possession of Viagogo tickets - only to be turned away at the turnstile because they're fake.

Not worth it. And the fewer people who use them the quicker it will stop.
