Does anyone know it for a weekend away? Can you recommend it and any hotels/restaurants?

A very pretty place. The cathedral is worth a visit and has a cafe. Not far from Marwell Zoo if you like zoos. The Ivy is a posh restaurant if you can afford it - you’d need to book in advance. If you fancy pizza but don’t want the usual chain - The Stable does fabulous pizzas.

Hotel du vin is lovely in Winchester.

The Olde Vibe is lovely and very central. The Black Hole is cheaper but quirky and really good.
