I’ve only just realised there’s a tour! Debating whether to spend £80 to go tomorrow night…

Went last night in Manchester. Cracking gig, they've definitely still got it.

I was at the Manchester gig too. Got to say I wasn’t overwhelmed by them and Simon forgot the lyrics to one song then sang the verse twice in another.
Bit lacking in energy I thought, but then they are in their 60’s!

Saw them at Hyde Park last summer, definitely not lost it, some questionable outfit choices tho!

I don't think Simon forgetting the words mattered at all to the overall atmosphere of the gig. In fact, for me, it added to the 'unique-ness' of that particular show. It's not like he tried to pretend it didn't happen, he had a laugh about it with everyone, rather than acting like a precious diva that had just spoiled their perfect performance. Shows how actually 'live' it is too. As for the lacking in energy, yes, they are getting on in age now and I think they do marvellous, for how old they are, to do a pretty long set with the energy they do give it.

I went last night. It was amazing, a thousand times better than the word and movement perfect Abba Avatars we saw on Sunday.

they were absolutely awesome last night, really amazing gig and people were up on their feet from the start!

oh and Simon’s voice is perfection!

I was unsure on the standing etiquette. People behind were grumbling about people standing up ( they were elderly and didn't look particularly mobile) but I had to stand up towards the end for some of the absolute classics.
What is the done thing for standing at concerts? I saw Duran Duran at a festival last year, so there wasn't the same issue.

Yes! It's great to see & hear them doing so many of the early hits.

At a show like this, it seems most people will be standing and you have to expect that.

I actually sat bopping in my seat for the majority of it because I was lucky that those in front of me stayed sitting too. But most were on their feet & I would have been too if I'd needed to be to see anything. Although we also had the big screen just at the side of us. Like you though @rookiemere I did stand for the latter part, the songs just get you moving!

On another note, some weird people spent most of the concert with their phones in front of their faces, recording the
songs, and seemingly not really enjoying the moment.

I would have thought the market for people wanting to view second hand footage of Duran Duran live would be fairly limited, and it felt like the live experience was somewhat wasted on them.

Oh I’ve been looking at the footage from the concerts that people have put on YouTube- revving myself up for Friday when I go!

@MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru I'm also going to Glasgow - I'd engineered an entire London trip and then they announced their Glasgow date. Looking forward to seeing them again- and this time I will bring my distance glasses !
