If your in Facebook jail can you still use messenger?

Trying to message a friend but messages are not being read on messenger, they haven’t been online for a few days and I am not blocked. I am thinking they may have been given a temporary ban? Would this stop them accessing messenger?

Your friend might not have seen the messages? They might be busy. Or ignoring Facebook.

I am a little bit concerned. Messages are showing as a white circle with a grey tick and outline? They are quite an argumentative person so there’s a chance they may have had an argument through messenger with someone, would this cause a Facebook and messenger ban? I can’t go check in them as they live over an hour away and I am working. They never answer their mobile and rarely have credit on their phone, also they refuse to use WhatsApp 😡. It’s odd that they haven’t tried to contact me in another way.

No Facebook bans don't apply to messenger. They're ignoring you.

I don’t think are ignoring me. They haven’t been online at all, haven’t been active on Facebook. They admin a group and have not been active on there (usually they are on there everyday). Just seems very odd.

The grey circle means the message hasn't been received. If the person is logged into messenger on their phone they typically show as blue (delivered) immediately.

If the person only used Facebook and messenger through a computer they would not show as delivered and they possibly can't access them without being able to get into Facebook first.

Thank you, I have made contact via text. I saw them at the weekend and something wasn’t right so I was worried. They are ok in the sense they haven’t done anything stupid but they are not in a great place hence why they are not online, k think they have turned off any connection to the internet which is why messages were showing as not received.
