What toothpaste does your 10 year old use?

For a few years my 10 year old has been using a cheap Colgate toothpaste. The dentist recommended they use an adult toothpaste form around 6 so that is what we have done.

I'm just wondering what others use as I saw an article saying children shouldn't use adult toothpaste until 12. Also, anyone know if the cheaper toothpaste is less effective?

Our dentist told us that now they had adult teeth to use adult toothpaste, they are 6 and 9. They just use ours which a cheap Colgate whitening one. Not had any problems with it as far as I know, regular dentist check ups.

My 10yr old has been using 'adult' tooth paste from about 5. His teeth are fine.

My dc 11 and 9 use sensodyne pronamel as it is the one the dentist recommended. They have done since they were 6.

We started DS on adult toothpaste as soon as we started brushing his teeth, following the guidelines on the pack. All toothpastes by law are supposed to have the same amount of fluoride in them. When he was little the only guidance was to avoid whitening toothpastes.

My 11yo is still on kids toothpaste as they don't like strong mint taste. It has the same fluoride concentration as adult toothpaste so I'm not sure what the difference is?

DD didn’t like the minty taste of toothpaste so she used some Sainsbury’s strawberry flavoured one. I just followed the dentist’s advice about fluoride content.

Mine have both used adult toothpaste from around 6 or 7 I think.

It does depend on which country/area you live in as some areas have a higher natural or added Fluoride content in the water.
However here in Scotland we would recommend 14000 ppm F toothpaste for that age group.
