90th birthday - Advice please!! Putting together a memory book or similar - by Sunday....

Just that really ... due to recent bereavement I'm only just focusing on my aunt's 90th now.... she is very dear to me, and almost a mother-figure since I've lost my parents....She does have lovely children of her own and grandchildren

For my own parents, I put together memory books from the three siblings - a pretty A6 book with a memory on each page handwritten by us.

I'm thinking of something similar but from a larger group of us - nieces and nephews etc - probably 20 or so....

Any thoughts from anyone who's done this - or other ideas?

How did you coordinate? People bringing printed papers and sticking them in or ??????

And where do I find a beautiful blank-page book to deliver very quickly?

Huge thanks Mumsnet wisdom - I'm counting on you!

You could do a video. Get everyone to send you their memories/ well wishes and put it all together in one story. I did this during Covid for my Aunties 80th as we couldn't all get to visit. Everyone put huge effort into it including songs etc. She absolutely loved it and so did her dc and gc. Only a suggestion as you are so short of time.

This is great. My friends wife did this for him for his 40th and it was awesome (and easy for us as we all live all over the place but just had to send her a video on whatsapp, maybe not so easy for her as she had to edit and put them altogether). Another thing is you could do headlines from every decade of her birthdate

Will there be a gathering of any kind?

Family member did one for a special birthday and the book was discreetly passed around during the party and presented to the recipient near the end. Make sure people know its going to happen so they can have a think about what they want to write.

Yes get everyone to complete the same size of paper e.g. A5 and either put them into nice labelled envelopes in a nice box or mount into a book.

I think written things are much nicer than videos as you can look at it whenever and it is more personal.

Well you can look at a video whenever too and hear the person voice and see their face as they say their piece. Not that l have anything against a book but if there are time pressures it's not easy to pull it together.

Lovely ideas and suggestions - thank you!! Going to reflect with cousins today and get moving....

Definitely doing the book - it's more me - and a video of my daughter who can't be there
