Too plain?

Looking for fashion advice - is this dress too plain for a wedding or could it be accessorised to look ok? (Should add that heels are a no no for me).

It looks like a beach coverup sort of dress but that doesn’t mean it can’t be worn to a wedding. I think it looks very informal but no one would raise an eyebrow at it if you wore it to a wedding!

Fab pink shoes and maybe a hat or if not then definitely some blingy jewellery and a statement bag and it will be great.

Summer wedding I’m at the whole day, it’s my brothers wedding but I’m not sure how formal! It’s in a country hotel 🤷🏻‍♀️. The bride is a bubbly, fun person so it’s not going to be a stiff, fussy do…

I'd say it's quite casual so you'd definitely need a hat or fascinator to jazz it up. Or Maybe a cream or sandy coloured blazer over the top? Sorry I can't see the exact colour on my phone

I should point out I do not have the figure of the women modelling these dresses - I am an unhappily size 16 5ft 4 middle aged woman, which makes these dresses hang very differently to the pictures!!

I think a handkerchief hem is difficult with flats.
I think you could bling up the first dress with metallic sandals/bag etc.

That’s actually the one I bought first but at £140 for a dress I don’t think I’ll wear again it seems a waste.

Honestly, I think you’re right. I’ve put 2 stone on since I started using insulin and I hate the way I look…

Why not use an in store personal stylist at JL?
Tell them the budget and that you’d like to be able to wear it again and see what they come up with.

I love their dresses but the sizes are small. I usually have to go up two sizes.

I like both the Fat Face dresses and think they are absolutely fine for a wedding, maybe with a cream blazer and some jewellery. Be comfortable. Make sure your feet are happy. Enjoy whatever you choose to wear - unless it's massively inappropriate with bits of you falling out if it, no-one will pay any attention anyway.
