How do Australians drink tea ?

Watching Married at First Sight and they’re all drinking tea but have the bags in the cup, how do they take their tea in Oz?

Is it likely rooibos like S Africa or just weak Lipton type tea so you need to keep the bag in ? Or they’re just all happening to drink herbal ??

My friend is Australian, she drinks tea the same way as my (English) mother, with a dash of milk. I don't drink dairy so gave mine black

I lived there 20yrs. Older generations still used tea leaves and a pot but the majority a tea bag- which was taken out. Leaving a regular tea bag in the cup isn't the norm IMO.

I can only think it was herbal tea or rooibos as your said. I've seen people in the UK leave herbal tea bags in the cup too though!

Aren't they drinking fruit tea?

The only time I've noticed someone in MAFS AU leaving the tea bag in their mug it was herbal tea. I do the same with herbal tea, it's not unusual.

Over here in Northern Ireland I've met lots of people who leave the t bag in whilst they drink it after adding milk

My mum used to leave the teabag in when she drank flavoured green tea (not in Australia though!) I love strong tea but even thinking about that made me wince - it must have been very very bitter.
