Multiple DBS update services.

So I have three DBS forms for work, all on the update service. I now have 2 More DBS's for church. (Different dioceses). On a separate account as apparently paid and voluntary ones can't be mixed. Arghhh! I thought the whole point of the update service was to prevent duplication. Who came up with this system?!!!

Ridiculous isn't it? They don't work at all like we were told they would.

same here and I caused confusion by changing the nhs trust I work for and then having to pay twice.

Church one I ignore as no longer needed (changed role) plus they paid for it.

work wise I just ensure i am paid up annually on the original date and ignore other reminders for the second time I had to sign (and pay) up!

It’s utterly ridiculous, DH is in a similar multiple-DBS position.
It should be ONE record that can either be printed or accessed online by whoever needs it, with the appropriate permissions.

My experience is everyone is delighted you use the update service-as long as their company is the main one and everyone else takes theirs to get the update from. Waste of time. I have three.
