I keep my kids(7+9) summer(shorts, skirts dresses)clothing in a zipped bag above their wardrobes and in summer that changes to winter clothes thick coats hats scarfs ect being stored away.

Any way what month do you start doing the changeover of clothes? It was beautiful sunshine today warm and 16.c and when the kids came home they both wanted to get changed into summer clothing is it time ?I mean we are mid April now however there wardrobes are very small!

I never let mine wear jumpers or trousers after Palm Sunday.

I’ve done it mostly already, so April! They still have a few trousers and jumpers out, but mostly swapped the trousers for shorts etc, and I have put the winter coats away!

I don't swap. They have a mixture of shorts/trousers/short sleeves/long sleeves/hoodies and they all get used all year.

Even in the midst of winter they may still stick their shorts on around the house, even in summer they may need a hoodie in the evening etc so nothing is particularly unworn to the point of needing packing away.

They're not really 'thick winter jumper' type kids so nothing huge to put away, more layers of t shirt/hoodie/thick coat in winter.

Mine don’t have different sets of clothes for summer or winter. They have long and short sleeves, trousers and shorts and choose what they want and layer with cardigans and jumpers when needed. So there’s no official switch over. Me - still in more winters stuff but with less layers on top.

I swap around now, but DD has a mixture of mid season clothes anyway, like pp say — so her really wintry clothes will be packed away, but things like jeans/leggings /long sleeved tees and so on, all stay out. I’ll then add summer shorts, skirts and T-shirts in now and make a list of anything else DD will need for summer.

Around now I also sort the winter items for any outgrown branded items in good condition that I might want to sell on eBay.

So pleased to swap to summer school dresses though. Much easier in the laundry than tons of tights and heavy winter dresses!
