A quote for cleaning, won't tell me how much?

I've never hired a cleaner before.

I'm moving and won't have time to clean, so am hoping to hire a cleaner to do an end of tenancy clean.

Messaged a company. Told them I wanted a one off clean, house type, number of rooms, pics of rooms and that I wanted a deep clean in an empty house and asked for quote.

They say £15ph.

I ask how long will the clean take. They say they don't know.

I ask how do I get a quote then?

They say it just takes how long it takes.

So I'm supposed to just book them with absolutely no indication of what I will pay at the end?

Is that normal for cleaners? Like I say I've never hired one before.

Surely they should say around £xyz?

I understand if I was asking for 2 hours a week. That's simple.

But they do end of tenancy cleans, surely they must know how long it will take, roughly?

Will depend on amount of rooms, how much work needs doing without seeing how you leave it then it's probably hard to know for sure.

When I had a deep clean they asked about how big my flat is, what jobs I wanted doing etc and then said X per hour, we estimate that will take between Y and Z hours

Shop around op, we found several companies that had prices for end of tenancy clean just for how many rooms there were

When we had an end of tenancy clean, they said they work on the basis of eight hours. In fact, it took them four hours in the end.
