Facebook marketplace - scam?

Can anyone tell me how this works?

I'm on the look out for some garden furniture. Rattan style. I've been looking on marketplace and loads of them come up for either free or £99 and must
Go or with free delivery. It's the same with sofas that are new for £100. The posts also come up as local to me but they are in fact Manchester or London - I'm in Scotland.

Must be a scam but I can't work out what?

Its not a scam as such but when you ask the price, its a lot more than what they have put

Scam. You pay and the sofa never gets delivered.

Complete scam. I always report those listings.

They're adverts for companies designed to draw your attention with cheap (fake) prices and by looking like private ads
Some may be entirely bogus I suppose.

its not a scam ..but its definitely false advertising ,and being honest your taking a big chance on buying some cheap rubbish ,we spent ages searching for ours and travelling to different garden centres and eventually found a local showroom for our 8 seater corner with gas firepit table ,which is amazing (roll on summer ) and we saved over £2k on the exact same set that a company called moda were advertising 👍try www.lotusgardencollections.co.uk they may have something you like ?
