Do I talk to the father or the son?

Next door the dad has gone away leaving his 19 year old home. We were kept awake by next door’s dog barking through the night. DH went round at 11:30pm but no one was home.

Despite setting the doorbell camera area to not capture anything above the fence between our front gardens it does still turn on when anyone walks up or down their path.

I checked the doorbell this morning and the son left the house at 3:15 yesterday afternoon and didn’t return until 11:20 this morning. No wonder the poor dog was barking.

Do I speak to the son, the dad when he returns or stay out of it unless it happens again? We’re on ‘good morning’ terms only as we don’t see them often.

Poor dog. That's awful. I'd speak to both. Speak to son today and Dad when he gets back.

The son is an adult. I’d raise it with him and if it continues then mention to the dad on his return.
