Nice hotels near Yarm/Northallerton/Richmond/Darlington

I’d love Rockliffe Hall but sadly haven’t got the
£££. So somewhere a bit more affordable but still nice food. Can be a pub with rooms if the food is good. Any recommendations?

I don’t know why I put nice in the title. No one’s going to ask for a rec for rubbish hotels are they!

How about the Morritt Arms at Greta Bridge? Full disclosure, I haven’t actually stayed there, but I love the Garage Spa which is part of it

The Crab and Lobster is fabulous for food and has a range of rooms from those in the main house to lodges and cottage type rooms with individual saunas and hot tubs in the grounds

Seconding the crab and lobster! It’s outside of Thirsk - we’ve stayed at crab manor a couple of times and never been disappointed.

The Golden Lion is Osmotherly (near Northallerton) has rooms that are decent price and very good food, lovely village.
Middleton Lodge is very nice - if midweek can get offers. Wouldn’t advise weekends as have weddings but very nice place.
Easby Hall just outside Richmond has rooms and is gorgeous.
