I hate night time at the moment.

Yep pretty much, forgot my meds this morning. This is the result.

FishyMcFishyfingersFace · 16/04/2023 04:46

Yep, still awake with depression and anxiety. Have just self-referred for CBT, literally a few minutes ago, having thought about it for about 3 months. Meds aren't helping hugely and my brain just can't switch off. Hope you get some sleep soon, I need some as have to get up in just over 3 hours for a (relaxing?) shower before church. I am coming to hate night time too.

Hey! I found my people

LadyPenelope68 · 16/04/2023 05:00

Yes, I’m suffering terrribly since my Mum died 12 months ago. ☹️

BlastedPimples · 16/04/2023 05:02

Yes. Been awake since 4.30am. Horrible divorce.

frankie001 · 16/04/2023 05:11

Hello! Me too.

Flipflops123 · 16/04/2023 05:13

always

PositivePenny · 16/04/2023 05:17

I’m also awake, I’m yet to sleep just pacing the house.

mushroommummy · 16/04/2023 05:27

Yep me too, been awake all night. I’ve tried everything, nothings worked to get to sleep. I’ve loads on today so this is not ideal!

LemonDrizzle10 · 16/04/2023 08:44

I did a really good course a few years ago about managing anxiety. One really useful part for me was the allocation of a set period of worry time: mine was between 6 and 6.30 am. I was allowed to worry during that time and write stuff down etc. If I woke up before then I got the hang of switching off until it was 6am. It was a really good online webinar run by the NHS during the second lockdown.

Creepycrawler · 16/04/2023 09:33

I'm sorry. I nodded off about 4am before I saw these comments.

I just woke up. 😐

Maybe we need an anxiety nighttime thread?! 👍

I'm sorry you are struggling too. Huge hugs. I hate this anxiety.
I'm 42 and feel like such a big baby.

I was. I must’ve dropped off at around 3:30.

A close relative died a few weeks ago and it’s knocked me for six. I need to get back into routine and healthy habits again (I’ve drunk too much alcohol over the last fortnight).

Creepycrawler · 16/04/2023 09:38

I have started hating night time too. I'm on Fluroxetine but not helping much. GP not much help tbh. Probably do need therapy but can't afford it.
I don't like being on my own now.
I used to be so independent. I've been on my own for 8 years with the kids and never been like this. 😢

Huge hugs to everyone struggling.

Isn't it awful being awake & struggling with anxiety.

I saw another thread on here recently that recommended a podcast called "Nothing much happens" and it's been helping me get to sleep.

It is a woman narrating a story twice over & literally nothing much happens but it has helped ease me off to sleep.

A useful book/Instagram page I've found in The anxiety antidote by Kamran Bedi. Worth a look.

I hope you sleep better tonight.

Dustyblue · 16/04/2023 09:42

Oooh this is me. I'm on a different timezone (Australia) so it's 6.40pm, hoping for a better night tonight.

Anti-depressants, melatonin and whatever I can manage of "sleep hygiene". Far out I hate that term.

It's hideous. Solidarity people XX

Creepycrawler · 16/04/2023 09:53

Thank you whatliesbeneath.

Dusty, hope you get some sleep over there. 😘

Sorry to hear this. That must be really tough for you with all the different things going on. I hope you find some peace and routine very soon.
