What do your unsociable teens do in summer?

I have a 14 year old who will be off school for almost 3 months. There isn’t much to do where we live (not UK) and he has ASD and very few friends. He is quite happy not socialising and would happily spend the whole summer in his bedroom watching YouTube on his phone or playing x.box (also not with friends). He has no interest in meeting up with anyone. He will continue once weekly music and sport classes.

I don’t want to force him into anything but also don’t want him locked in his room for months.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What do your unsociable teens spend their time on?

DD also has ASD and whilst she loves being in the sea doesn't like being hot and sweaty so we aim anything early morning or evenings and leave it upto her what she does during the day.

We go to the beach most mornings and have a breakfast picnic there and a morning swim. I work from home for the rest of the day and she is free to make plans with friends or not (more often not) then after work if she's not been out with her friends we go for a walk.
I'll book cinema or theatre tickets for an evening showing once a week to make sure she's been out in public I don't like her getting too desensitised.

Thanks very much. Very helpful suggestions. I had already considered a daily morning swim.
