We're a family of 5 and have always holidayed in the UK due to cost. The DC would really like to go abroad and experience sitting on a plane etc. They're 13,10,5.
I haven't a clue on where to look for flights, should I go for a package or book separate hotel and flights? Which websites do you recommend?

We don't like camping / caravanning!

Lanzarote. Very clean and very family oriented. Not a busy nightclub and 18 to 30s style place at all. Not too far to transfer from the airport either. Flights usually quite reasonable. Good food again cheap. A brilliant water park, a zoo, safe pedestrianised promenades. Ideal for you.

What UK resorts do you love/hate?

Everyone has a different idea of what a family-friendly resort means.
eg I love Tenby and hate Blackpool, both family-friendly but very different!

Jet2 Holidays are pretty good. Agree with pp about Lanzarote - it seems to be cheaper than the other Canary Islands but is lovely.

Sidari in Corfu?
I went last year and a few years ago, both with Tui.
Great beach, rock formations to dive off, pedalos, banana boats, lovely little tavernas in the quiet area or a bustling road called the strip with bars and karaoke.
We did some wonderful day excursions with Tui,one bei g picked up from the hotel, driven to corfu town port where we caught a boat and sailed to Greece mainland to a lagoon, where we spent the day with a bbq. Just wonderful.

What’s your budget. What do you want; beaches, waterslides, plenty of places to eat or AI?

Barleymilk · 15/04/2023 13:10

Just to say the 18 to 30s head to kavos in corfu,Sidari is child friendly. No one drunk on the pavements and my 78 year old mother loved it. Also has a water park!

Take a look at the Tui website to get ideas etc

Lanzarote and Crete

Have a look at Love Holidays and On The Beach

We went to corfu 4 years ago and found it to be extremely expensive especially for food and drink.

If there's first holiday I'd pick an all-inclusive with Tui.

Bulgaria and Montenegro

I’ve found Portugal quite cheap for flights and very reasonable for a decent Airbnb near the beach. Lanzarote and Greece flights were over twice the price.

What's your budget? What dates do you want to go? What airports can you fly from?
