Best restaurant in Canterbury?

Our plans for my sisters hen weekend in June fell through yesterday when the host of our accommodation admitted she'd double booked. We were staying in Chichester and I had the whole weekend planned.

I have managed to find accommodation in Canterbury for the same weekend and rearranged some of the activities, but I don't know the area and am looking for a banging restaurant in Canterbury for a group of 13, any recommendations? My sister is a steak lover but we also have some vegans with us.

Please help, from a desperate maid of honour!

Not necessarily “hen do” but these are really good:

  • Goods Shed
  • cafe des amis
  • herd
  • nearby to Canterbury is Bridge. There’s a Pig and the Bridge Arms.
  • the refectory kitchen - if you want a brunch spot
  • socialite is a roof top bar - recently opened

Socialite do amazing steak and great cocktails. That would be where I would start. Plus it feels lux and you enter by a tiny lift onto a rooftop. Then the pound for more booze and some dancing!

Cafe des Amis, Korean Cowgirl, El Sol. Socialite has terrible reviews. Avoid The Cuban (bar) at all costs as lots of drink spiking there.
