I need job inspiration please

I love my work at times but I need a change. I worked in public sector policy a very long time ago but all recent experience is with people with experience of substance misuse, mental health, homelessness etc. I would like to do something cheerful.

I don't have a degree and don't need a high salary - 25k. I can't do anything administrative, would make constant errors - but I do enjoy producing written work.

Any ideas please?!

No ideas about written work other than perhaps taking on some freelance copy work on something like 'upwork' and building up from there. You could start out alongside your current work. Would you consider a course or doing some retraining?

I would consider training but needs to be affordable. I also need a salary.

I enjoy routine of going to work rather than work from home. I like working with people rather than entirely office based. Don't want to work with children. Teaching adults appeals but I can't afford to compete a degree and then any further qualifications, I need to be working.

Can you transfer your skills to a charity that helps people? Trips for disadvantaged children for example

Civil service? I'm leaving teaching and have applied to a few civil service jobs. They appeal to me as they often don't require any previous experience and the application/interview asks behaviour based questions which, once you get the hang of, are quite easy to apply to your previous work even if unrelated.

Civil service jobs where I live are front live delivery for DWP, the justice system and health and I have been looking but nothing appealing. Same with local authority. I would probably be going in at admin level which I wouldn't enjoy. You are right the application process is very open though. I hope you find something you enjoy.
