How can I stick a rug to the carpet?

We recently got new carpet in my sons bedroom and I stupidly chose a soft pile type instead of a more flat hardwearing carpet.
His desk chair was leaving really obvious wheel marks on the carpet so I got a rug to put underneath the chair. The rug keeps moving so I need some sort of carpet tape to stick it down.
All the rug tape I can find is designed to stick rugs to a hard flooring, not to carpet.
Can anyone suggest anything please?

Look for 'rug grippers' that are suitable for carpets. Similar principle to Velcro with tiny hooks that grip on to the carpet. You can get little strips that you stick under the corners of your rug or larger sheets that sit under the rug. Lots available online.

John Lewis do a variety of sizes rug holders. They are fabulous and you can also cut to size. The rug will not move an inch!
